Restaurant Denver

Whether your taste runs to pizza and beer or candlelight and linen tablecloths, you need to be able to find the right restaurant. Denver locals know that the Mile High City, while not about to give Parisian chefs a run for their money, nevertheless boasts a broad selection of delectable fare for the discerning palate.

From Steak to Sushi, You'll Find the Restaurant Denver Designed For You

A certain culinary sophistication has trickled into this former cowtown, and it's reflected in the menu at any given restaurant. Denver offers dining diversity. Downtown, which includes LoDo, Mile High Stadium, the Colorado Convention Center and Coors Field, is home to eateries that sell beef in many guises. Besides the broiled steak and chops you'd expect, you might be surprised to also see grilled venison with an innovative sauce on the menu, at one of the newer restaurants headed by an inventive young chef.

Vegetarians Can Enjoy Healthful, Light Denver Restaurant Delights

Of course, if you're a vegetarian, or prefer more of a health food restaurant, Denver will not disappoint. There are salad bars and cafes, along with a fine selection of Japanese restaurants selling sushi and other light meals.

Pizza? Denver Goes 'Way Beyond Pepperoni!

And about that pizza. If you're eating on the run, you can buy it from one of the chains that now dot the Denver landscape. But if you have time to sit down and enjoy a meal in a restaurant, Denver area Italian restaurants sell pizza with toppings such as smoked salmon and asparagus. It will not remotely resemble what you get when you order take-out!

Be Sure to Ask Whether Credit Cards And Checks Are Accepted

If you're going for the fine dining experience, you'll want to ask whether major credit cards are accepted, and which one. Some establishments will take Visa and MasterCard but not American Express or Diner's Club, for example, so it pays to check. (And if you're planning to pay by check, ask whether personal checks are OK as well.)

Free parking should be standard at a first-rate restaurant. Denver is a major city, so valet parking may be an option. If you or your dining companions will need wheelchair access, call ahead to see what type of disabled access is available.

Boulder, Just A Short Drive Away, Offers A Different Restaurant Experience

Remember, too, that Boulder, just a half-hour's drive away, can introduce you to a whole different flavor of restaurant. Denver with a more holistic sensibility. If you prefer whole grains and sprouts to London broil, a drive to Boulder may be a mouth-watering inducement to savor more of the Rocky Mountain dining experience, a bit farther afield.

Bon appetit!
